Others want the personal satisfaction of a self evaluation.
Regardless of your preference, you can now monitor your progress with Patrick King’s foundation program, with the following evaluation packets:
Stage 1, Green and Growing
Stage 2, Mellow Yellow

Do I need an official evaluation before moving on to the next stage?
Certainly not. We offer official evaluations, both in person and via video evaluation, to students that seek feedback on their progress and areas for improvement. Otherwise, you can choose to evaluate yourself (unofficially) by using the evaluation packet for your particular stage of development.
Some of our progressive clinics and courses require certain foundation prerequisites. If you and your horse have been ‘officially promoted’, then you would automatically qualify for acceptance into the next higher course. If you’ve promoted yourself and your horse ‘unofficially,’ you’ll need to attach the evaluation packet assessing your skills and accomplishments, and may even be asked to include a video of certain tasks (depending on the content of the particular clinic/course) with your clinic/course registration.
Official promotions will be recognized with a certificate of achievement and color-coded alamar neck-rope for your horse, signifying your accomplishment and promotion to the next stage of your foundation.
As positions for associate instructors and foundation specialists become available, individuals with official promotions will receive first consideration for acceptance.
