Apprenticeships

Heading Down the Road with Patrick King Horsemanship

Are you looking for a more hands-on experience with Patrick King Horsemanship? Patrick offers apprenticeships year round for students. They will provide the student with exposure to all aspects of horsemanship and small business entrepreneurship. Patrick travels approximately 325 days a year to over 50 barns in 23 states. Depending on the week, the apprentice may observe clinics, private lessons, demonstrations, lectures, adult equitation camps, training, expos, and colt starting sessions. On days off, Patrick works on graphic design and marketing campaigns for his business. Opportunities to work with horses of all levels will be available depending on the apprentice’s experience and comfort level.

Requirements: Apprentices must be at least 18 years of age and in good physical health. Must be open minded, professional, and willing to learn. Applicants should expect a demanding schedule that often begins early in the morning with potentially travel late into the night in varying weather conditions.

Costs: The apprentice must pay for his or her own lodging, meals, and incidental expenses while on the road with Patrick.
